Each hour-long episode features interviews with survivors who reveal in detail what the seconds, minutes, hours and days felt like from their insiders' vantage point, interwoven with the stories of those who came to their aid. From police to firefighter to S.W.A.T. Members, getting innocent people out safely while apprehending the suspect is what their professions are about. As if the recounting of these stories isn't enough, each story will be accompanied by real news footage, cell phone video, and images from surveillance cameras as the events went on. This first-hand perspective, coupled with real source footage will make the harrowing escapes from the perpetrator all more real. Finally, dramatic recreations will be used to punch up the little moments that happen when time slows down and your life flashes before your eyes. Showdowns with the captor, people taking their escape into their own hands, those protecting their loved ones from the situation… These recreations will cut between the rescue effort and the harrowing actions happening under the watchful eye of the captor to create a picture of what being held hostage is really like.
