John Standing meets his doppelgänger Johnny Spence and, after a boozy night, they swap lives. Standing is suddenly responsible for a crumbling stately home, a failing business, two mistresses, a wife and a precocious daughter. Although he initially tries to escape, he is increasingly drawn into Spence's world. The Scapegoat is a morally complex, emotional and suspenseful movie, adapted from Daphne du Maurier’s novel, featuring compelling performances from the film's ensemble cast.
